The Tesselaar Tulip Festival opens mid September to mid October every year. For the rest of the year the Tesselaar Tulip Farm operates as a nursery and mail order plant business. In autumn we explode with colour once more with our KaBloom Festival of Flowers. Sadly the tulips are not on display at any other time.

We recommend purchasing your tickets online to avoid queues and sell out days. You do not need to print out the ticket, we can scan them off your device, though recommend taking a screen shot of your ticket before you come, for quick and easy access (and phone reception can be limited for some networks on the farm).
Tickets are valid for single entry on any day of the festival. On busy days we may sell out so keep an eye on our website and social media. If visiting on a weekend, we recommend buying your tickets in advance.
* Tickets cannot be purchased on any other website except www.tulipfestival.com.au resale tickets will not be accepted on entry. Please be wary of social media scams.
The festival plants early, mid, and late flowering tulips to ensure colour throughout the season, but weather can affect bloom quality. If the flowers don’t meet our standards—whether they bloom too early or too late—you’ll receive a Flower Guarantee Pass, allowing you to return to any future festival for free. You’re still welcome to enjoy the current blooms and entertainment on the day. The pass can be used at KaBloom in autumn, the Tesselaar Tulip Festival in spring, or any future event. Keep it safe, as lost passes can’t be replaced.
Tickets are non-refundable. The festival operates in all weather.
If your ticket type is General Admission, these are not date specific and you can use these tickets for single entry on the day of your choice.
If your ticket type is Spring Fever, these are limited dates. You can upgrade your ticket, by paying the difference to General Admission, upon entry at the ticket booth.
Tickets are only sold via our official ticketing partner Trybooking and we do not offer refunds from unauthorised sellers or resellers.
On weekends and public holidays ticketing may be changed to date specific tickets so we can limit sales to ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable day. If you have purchased a date specific ticket it is only valid for entry on that day.
Children aged 3-16 are free of charge when accompanied by an adult, they still require a ticket but there is no additional charge.
Children 0-2 are free of charge and do not require a ticket.
We participate in the Companion Card program, the card holder is to purchase a concession ticket for themself and show the valid companion card at entry for their one companion to enter.
WeCare cards qualify for a concession rate ticket.
We are a working farm, for information on accessibility click here.
Groups of ten or more have discounted entry. Once the tickets are purchased, they can be forwarded to individuals to make entry quick and easy. You do not need to print out the ticket, we can scan it off your device. Group ticket holders are not required to visit on the same day.
Yes! This is one of our most common questions, well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome. We provide water for dogs around the grounds. We ask that you please pick up after your pooch. Clean up bags are available at the Entrance – just ask a staff member for one.
Sorry, no. After our closing date our gates will be closed for packing up. We do not allow access during this time for public safety.
No, sorry, we are unable to allow drone photography due to risk to visitors and it is the law. If you use a drone we will ask you to leave.

The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is held on a working farm with unsealed roads and paths. The property is located on a slope. People with limited mobility will require assistance with access, see here for more detailed information. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. We support the National Companion Card and Carer Card. There is a flat, separate entrance within the carpark for those with limited mobility. We suggest calling our customer service team before visiting on 03 9737 7722 (Mon-Fri) for accessibility information.
No we do not have wheelchairs for hire. If you need a wheelchair for your visit please bring your own or organise a local hire. If you choose to bring a wheelchair, we recommend a solid and sturdy wheelchair for use around the farm.
Yes, we have a good number of tables and chairs available for you to use. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic rug, chairs or picnic for that matter and relax for the day.
Hmm, great question, that really depends on how many photographs you want to take, if you are having lunch, if you would like to sit and enjoy to some of our entertainment etc. etc. What we can tell you is the facts; in addition to 5 acres of flower fields, we have sensational live entertainment daily, see our calendar for more information. Some people can be in and out in a couple of hours and see it all, others like to make a day of it, it really depends on you.
You could even make it part of a day trip and include one or more local attractions in the gorgeous Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley.
We have two food courts with a wide variety of cuisines, beverages and snacks available for purchase. There is a bar onsite serving local wines, beers and cider in addition to fresh tea and coffee. You can also bring in your own food. Alcohol and gas BBQ’s/ cookers are not permitted.
Food prices range from $5-$25 per item or meal.
Sure, you are very welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy it in our gardens. We have lots of lovely lawn where you can sit down and enjoy the ambiance. We also have picnic tables located throughout. We do not have barbecue facilities on site. We are a licensed venue so no BYO.
Yes, we have free onsite parking for cars and buses.
On busy weekends we have an additional overflow car park and an added entry point.
People with limited mobility should park in our main car park (on the Monbulk side of our farm) in the designated spots.
Please note parking is limited and based on a first come, first served system. Many areas surrounding the farm are NO STANDING and we actively discourage you from parking on the roads surrounding the farm. If the car park is full, we recommend you take a drive, get a coffee, explore the local area and come back in an hour or so, we will reopen the car park as soon as space becomes available.
No, but we have licensed vendors on site that are permitted to sell alcohol.
You’re welcome to take photos here. Our season runs from mid September to mid October, and while we don’t have private photo areas, arriving early—around 10am on a weekday—offers the best chance for a quiet wedding shoot. Please pre purchase tickets online for everyone attending, including your photographer and makeup artist. There’s no extra photography fee. As we’re a working farm, brides should bring practical shoes and something like a blanket or towel to protect dresses from mud and dirt.
At this time there is no facility to host weddings at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival. We are considering it, but do not have the amenities at this time.
There are many free activities and installations inside. There are some additional charges and most are listed on the relevant ‘What’s On’ pages. For example extra fees are applicable for the tractor ride. People with limited mobility and their carers are free of charge. We charge extra for this activity as we do not have the capacity for everyone to utilise it, so instead of charging a higher entry price we have a small, optional extra fee. All vendors accept cards and cash.
We do this to ensure we have a great flower display throughout the festival. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the flowers at their best. We have placed crossings and additional photo spots along the fields and have kept the ropes low so that you can still get that perfect photo (link).
We often find lost items—those flowers can be distracting. Call us on 9737 7722 and we’ll try to reunite you with your belongings. Items are kept for 30 days after the festival before being donated to charity.
No, we will have bunches of flowers available for purchase but the flowers cannot be removed from the fields - we want them there for everyone to enjoy!
Tesselaar Tulip Festival is located on a working farm we recommend you pack a warm coat in case of bad weather, we would hate for you to be cold. On sunny days a hat and sunglasses are handy. Layers are most ideal as the weather can change.
Please remember that flowers grow in soil and in Silvan ours is lovely red volcanic soil, when it rains soil can become muddy, so if it has been raining, gumboots, or sensible footwear is advisable.
Whilst we always hope for sunshine, Tesselaar Tulip Festival is an outdoor event that runs rain, hail or shine (and sometimes we have all three in one day). Here is a link to The Bureau weather forecast.
We have free umbrellas for hire on site but you may wish to bring your own.
In the case of extreme weather events we may be required to close for safety reasons, this will occur if there is an extreme or red alert fire rating or dangerous winds. We will update any information on our Facebook page.
Our formal fields are roped off to protect the fragile flowers, but there are plenty of great photo spots. The blooms run right up to the ropes, and special paths let you capture photos that look like you’re among the flowers. We rope off the tulips so everyone can enjoy them without damage.
As we are an outdoor event it is ok to smoke, but please consider others and dispose of your butts thoughtfully. As per government regulations, you are not permitted to smoke within 10m of food service areas.
Sorry, we tried to think of everything, but we'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch here with your questions, we are happy to help.
