We would like you to have the best visit possible to our farm, so we have compiled the following information so you are best informed. The Tesselaar Flower Farm is a working farm which operates year round. We are located in the Dandenong Ranges on sloping ground, so some parts of the farm are difficult for people with limited mobility.

Like any outdoor areas, the ground may become muddy after rainfall, so a few areas can be slippery.

We recognise the National Companion Card and Carer Card. The map below indicates the slope and type of ground throughout the farm.

Our Historic Gardens are flat, with bitumen and crushed rock paths. This area contains our show gardens, a food court, souvenir shop, performance area/stage and accessible bathroom facility. The top most entrance to the Souvenir and Fairy Shop has a ramp entrance.

There is an entry point from our main car park to this area, which we can be opened on request. Unfortunately we cannot have it opened permanently. This entry point is ideal for groups of people and allows for vehicles to drop off passengers on flat ground. Please see our ‘Main Car Park’ section below for more details.

Our Flower Fields are located on a slope where there are both grass and loose rock paths. This terrain is difficult for people with limited mobility. Pushing a wheelchair up the slope requires good strength.

In the Flower Fields, available to all visitors, we provide a tractor train service that is free for people with limited mobility and their carer. Accessing this tractor train involves a declining gravel pathway. Currently the tractor train can accommodate one wheelchair; however we are hoping to expand this into the future. On busy days there may be a wait.

We have an accessible bathroom in our flatter, Historic Garden area with rails, an area for turning and a sink. We have a secondary portable, accessible bathroom at the base of our flower fields nearby to the train stop.

Our main car park has two rows of parking allocated for Parking Permit holders which is clearly signed by the main ticketing entrance. This area accommodates 35 cars. From the car park it is around a 50m stretch of crushed rock and gravel on a 12% incline to get to the main ticketing entrance gate.

We have an alternative entry by the Historic Garden/Top Garden area where you can gain access to the event on flat ground. There is a drop off area just inside the main driveway which is suitable for cars and/or mini buses.

This secondary entry point is ideal for groups and allows you to enter on flat ground. Ideally pre-purchase your tickets before arrival, or they will have to be paid for on the day at the main gate, which is 100m down hill, there is no ticket processing facility at this point. Pre purchased tickets are easily collected from here though.

To request entry via this access point, we have three options:

On weekends and during school holidays you can see the car park attendants, dressed in high visibility shirts for access. Please be patient, they may be busy.
You can have a member of your party go to our main entry gate to request the gate to be opened by a, if you have not pre purchased tickets you can also buy them at the time.
Call 9737 7722 Monday to Friday to arrange a time and a staff member can meet you at the gate. All vehicles are required to be parked in the Main Car Park after dropping off passengers at the pickup/drop off area.

On busy weekends, when the weather is fine and our visitation numbers are high, we open a secondary, overflow car park located on Spring Road. This car park entry is not readily accessible for visitors with limited mobility. It involves a 11.25% incline entrance. Once you are through the gate it is downhill 11.25% incline towards the food court and flower fields.

All visitors with walkers, wheelchairs or an inability to walk up steep hills should not park in the Spring Road car park. There is signage on the road to direct you to the main car park which is located in the Monbulk direction of the farm.

Both of our food courts are located on flat ground with grass or crushed rock surfaces. Many of our food vendors are in marquees, while some are mobile food trucks.

Our souvenir, plant nursery and fresh flower stalls have ramp accessibility. Our Fairy Shop is accessible through the adjoining souvenir and Clog Shop.

There is a First Aid room on-site with a defibrillator, and a First Responder qualified person rostered on each day of the festivals. Currently this room has two steps and a narrow doorway to enter.

Our performers are generally on elevated stages. We also have roving performers at ground level. The areas surrounding the stages are crushed rock or grass.
