We open 10am to 5pm every day between September 13th to October 12th 2025 - (our charter bus from Lilydale Station operates weekends and public holidays).
The Tesselaar Tulip Festival opens mid September to mid October every year. For the rest of the year the Tesselaar Tulip Farm operates as a nursery and mail order plant business, in autumn we explode with colour once more with our KaBloom Festival of Flowers. Sadly the tulips are not on display at any other time.
Adults $35.00, Concession $31.00.
We have discounted tickets on offer during our Spring Fever Weeks Adults $24.50, Concession $22.50.
Authorised tickets are sold only via this website. Concession includes Students, Pensioners, Seniors, WeCare and Health Cards.
We recommend purchasing your tickets online to avoid queues and sell out days. You do not need to print out the ticket, we can scan them off your device. We recommend taking a screen shot of your ticket before you come, for quick and easy access (and phone reception can be limited for some networks on the farm).
* Tickets cannot be purchased on any other website except www.tulipfestival.com.au resale tickets will not be accepted on entry.
* If you have purchased a date specific ticket, the ticket remains valid for any day, you don't need to change the date, you can come after that date but not before.
To help ensure the flowers will dazzle we plant early, mid and late flowering Tulips for a rainbow of colour throughout the festival. However hot/cold weather, heavy rains and high winds can ruin the best laid plans.
We want everyone to enjoy the full glory of the blooms so we offer a Flower Guarantee. While we do our best to ensure the tulips look amazing for everyone, sometimes nature is not on our side. The tulips could open late, after a cold or wet winter. Or early with unseasonably warm weather. So if the flowers aren't up to our high standards, we offer you the Flower Guarantee, a free pass to come back and enjoy a future event.
We still want you to come and enjoy the pre-organised entertainment and the blooms that are open at the time AND we will give you a 'Flower Guarantee Pass' that you can use to return free of charge at any festival in the future.
Flower Guarantee Passes can also be used at KaBloom Festival of Flowers in autumn or the Tesselaar Tulip Festival in spring. In fact you can use it at any of our festivals in future years. Simply hang on to the pass until you are able to use it again.
Please note: Photographs or photocopies will not be accepted. Passes cannot be sold. Passes can only be used once then they will be voided.
The festival operates in all weather.
If you have purchased a date specific ticket you can come after that date but not before, the ticket remains valid for any day, you don't need to change the date.
General Admission Tickets are not date specific and you can use these tickets for single entry on the day of your choice.
If you are upgrading from the Off Peak Spring Fever Ticket to a General Admission day, the difference is payable on entry.
Tickets are non-refundable. Any decision to refund is at the discretion of our Customer Service Team. Please contact us online through the Contact Us page on this website. Refunds cannot be requested after your ticket date. Refunds cannot be requested if you change your mind on attending the event.
Tickets are only sold via our official ticketing partner Trybooking and we do not offer refunds from unauthorised sellers or resellers.
On weekends and public holidays ticketing may be changed to date specific tickets so we can limit sales to ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable day. If you have purchased a date specific ticket it is only valid for entry on that day.
Ticket date changes need to be completed before the date on your original ticket, otherwise that ticket will have expired, additional fees are applicable.
If you have any issues, please get in touch.
Children aged 16 and under are free of charge when accompanied by an adult, so won't need a ticket.
Of course, we accept the National Companion Card and Carers Card. Our Tractor Train has a ramp for people with limiteed mobility and they and their carer ride free.
<br>We are a working farm, for information on accessibility click here.

Yes! This is one of our most common questions, well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome. We provide water for dogs around the grounds. We ask that you please pick up after your pooch.

The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is held on a working farm with unsealed roads and paths. The property is located on a slope. People with limited mobility will require assistance with access, see here for more detailed information. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. We support the National Companion Card and Carer Card. There is a flat, separate entrance within the carpark for those with limited mobility. We suggest calling our customer service team before visiting on 03 9737 7722 (Mon-Fri) for accessibility information.
No we do not have wheelchairs for hire. If you need a wheelchair for your visit please bring your own or organise a local hire.
Yes, we have a good number of tables and chairs available for you to use. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic rug, chairs or picnic for that matter and relax for the day.
Hmm, great question, that really depends on how many photographs you want to take, if you are having lunch, if you would like to sit and enjoy to some of our entertainment etc. etc. What we can tell you is the facts; in addition to 5 acres of flower fields, we have sensational live entertainment daily, see our calendar for more information. Some people can be in and out in a couple of hours and see it all, others like to make a day of it, it really depends on you.
You could even make it part of a day trip and include one or more local attractions in the gorgeous Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley.
Yes, we have a delicious range of food vendors every day. They change with our themed weekends too.
Every day at the festival we have Poffertjes (the famous Dutch mini pancakes), take away foods such as burgers, fish and chips, Gozleme (yummy Turkish bread), tea, coffee, roasted potatoes, fresh corn, soft serve ice cream, Dutch foods and cold drinks.
Food prices range from $5-$23 per item or meal.
Sure, you are very welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy it in our gardens. We have lots of lovely lawn where you can sit down and enjoy the ambiance. We also have picnic tables located throughout. We do not have barbecue facilities on site. We are a licensed venue so no BYO.
Yes, we have free onsite parking for cars and buses.
On busy weekends we have an additional overflow car park and an added entry point.
People with limited mobility should park in our main car park (on the Monbulk side of our farm) in the designated spots.
Please note parking is limited and based on a first come, first served system. Many areas surrounding the farm are NO STANDING and we actively discourage you from parking on the roads surrounding the farm. If the car park is full, we recommend you take a drive, get a coffee, explore the local area and come back in an hour or so, we will reopen the car park as soon as space becomes available.
On weekends we also offer a chartered bus service from Lilydale Station at the cost of $5pp, children 16 and under free.
No, but we have licensed vendors on site that are permitted to sell alcohol.
Yes, you are most welcome to have your photos taken here. Our season runs annually from Mid September to Mid October. We do not have areas set aside for private photos, so suggest you come early, at 10am and on a week day for a more private wedding photo shoot at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival.
We advise you pre-purchase your tickets online to avoid an added wait at the entrance gate or a sell out on the day. You will need a ticket for everyone including make up artist and photographer. We do not charge an additional photo levy.
Brides, please be advised, we are a working farm and have mud and dirt, so bring along some practical shoes as well as your gorgeous sparkly ones. We also think a picnic blanket or towel is a good idea to stop your dress getting dirty.
At this time there is no facility to host weddings at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival. We are considering it, but do not have the amenities at this time.
There are many free activities and installations inside. There are some additional charges and most are listed on the relevant ‘What’s On’ pages. For example the tractor ride is $5pp, or $15 for a group of four. People with limited mobility and their carers are free of charge. We charge extra for this activity as we do not have the capacity for everyone to utilise it, so instead of charging a higher entry price we have a small, optional extra fee. All vendors accept cards and cash.
We do this to ensure we have a great flower display throughout the festival. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the flowers at their best. We have placed crossings and additional photo spots along the fields and have kept the ropes low so that you can still get that perfect photo (link).
We sure do, people leave a lot of items behind - the flowers can be very distracting! Please call us on 9737 7722 and we will do our best to reunite you with your possessions.
No, we will have bunches of flowers available for purchase but the flowers cannot be removed from the fields - we want them there for everyone to enjoy!
Tesselaar Tulip Festival is located on a working farm we recommend you pack a warm coat in case of bad weather, we would hate for you to be cold. On sunny days a hat and sunglasses are handy. Layers are most ideal as the weather can change.
Please remember that flowers grow in soil and in Silvan ours is lovely red volcanic soil, when it rains soil can become muddy, so if it has been raining, gumboots, or sensible footwear is advisable.
Whilst we always hope for sunshine, Tesselaar Tulip Festival is an outdoor event that runs rain, hail or shine (and sometimes we have all three in one day). Here is a link to The Bureau weather forecast.
We have free umbrellas for hire on site but you may wish to bring your own.
In the case of extreme weather events we may be required to close for safety reasons, this will occur if there is an extreme or red alert fire rating or dangerous winds. We will update any information on our Facebook page.
Our formal fields are roped off to protect the flowers, but don't worry, there is plenty of areas to get the perfect photos - we run the flowers right up to the ropes and have special paths, so you can take the perfect pic, as if you are in amongst the blooms.
We rope the flowers at the Tulip Festival because we want everyone to be able to enjoy them, and they are too fragile to open them up.
As we are an outdoor event it is ok to smoke, but please consider others and dispose of your butts thoughtfully. As per government regulations you are not permitted to smoke in eating areas.
Sorry, we tried to think of everything, but we'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch here with your questions, we are happy to help.
