Grab your clogs and head on out to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival this weekend as it transforms into a mini-Holland! Our founders, Cees and Johanna Tesselaar emigrated from The Netherlands on their wedding day, bringing tulip bulbs in their suitcase, and their passion for flowers lives on this weekend.
Enjoy live stage shows throughout the weekend including Dutch and all time favourite music. Hear the harmonious voices of the The van Tongeren Sisters with pop, swing and rock melodies. The Accordian Accents Ensemble play all time classics of Dutch and European popular songs on the Dutch Castle Stage.
11:00am and 1:30pm Clog Dancing Workshop, see how it is done and give it a whirl. Noon and 2:30pm Historic Cheese Market performance where you see amazing spectacle of how Dutch cheeses were bought and sold.
The Tulip Fairy is in Fairy Hollow to tell her tales at 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm and 3.00pm..

Appelflappen; mouthwatering pastry filled with apples, apricots, currants and raisins with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar. Bitterballen; one of the Netherlands favourite snacks, a crunchy breadcrumb outer with warm, soft beef ragout and butter inside. Croquettes; meat ragout fried until golden served on a plate or in a roll. Haring; picked in brine and served with raw onion and pickles. Frikandellen; dating back to the 17th Century, these spiced Dutch sausages are amazing. Jalepeno Poppers; stuffed with cheese, these sweet and spicy snacks will have you coming back for more. Oliebollen; these sweet treats are similar to doughnuts and served with powdered sugar. Patat Frites; potatoes at their best, served in a cone with a range of delicious sauces. Patatje oorlog; Dutch fries, mayonnaise, raw onion and Indonesian satay sauce mmmm. Pea and Ham Soup; heart warming soup with smoky sausage. Poffertjes; (rhymes with sausages) iconic Dutch pancakes. Kaasouffle; Holland's answer to the cheese toasty, melted cheese in a thin layer of dough and deep fried, oh yes! Kibbeling; delectable pieces of battered white fish from the North Sea with mayonnaise.
