When do you open?

We open 9am to 5pm every day between September 14th and October 10th 2017. The Tesselaar Tulip Festival opens mid September to mid October every year. For the rest of the year the Tesselaar Tulip Farm operates as a nursery and mail order plant business. Sadly the tulips are not on display at any other time.

Do I have to pay, and how much?

Adult ticket prices are $28, concession $24, children 16 and under are free. Groups of ten or more are $24 per person and must be purchased online. Concession tickets include seniors, pension and student cards. We accept the National Carers Card. School groups (on application) are charged at $9 per student.

Do I have to buy tickets online?

While we offer the online ticketing service you are also welcome to buy your ticket at the gate. The ticket price is the same no matter where it is purchased. You might save some time by pre-purchasing your ticket. Online tickets must be printed out and can be used on any day.

We ask that online tickets are printed because some mobile carriers have limited reception at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival.

Can we bring our dog?

Dogs on leads are welcome. We provide water for dogs around the grounds. We ask that you please pick up after your pooch.

Do you have wheelchair/walker access?

The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is held on a working farm with unsealed roads and paths. The property is located on a slope. People will limited mobility will require assistance with access. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. We support the National Companion Card.

Do you have wheelchairs for hire?

We have a limited number of wheelchairs available. If you require a wheelchair we advise you hire one in advance as there is no guarantee we will have one on arrival and we cannot take reservations.

How long does it take to look around?

Well, how long is a piece of string?! That really depends on how many photographs you want to take, if you are having lunch, would like to sit and listen to some of our entertainment etc. etc. What we can tell you is the facts; we have over 750, 000 tulips to see set across 5 acres on a 25 acre property. There is live entertainment daily and you can see our program of events for more information. Some people can be in and out in a couple of hours and see it all, others like to make a day of it. It really depends. You could make it part of a day trip and include one or more local attractions.

Are there tables and chairs?

Yes, we have a number of tables and chairs available for you to use. You are welcome to bring bring your own picnic rug or picnic for that matter and relax for the day.

Is there any food available?

Yes, we have a range of different food vendors every day. You can visit each themed day for details of what food is on offer. Every day at the festival we have the famous Dutch mini pancakes, or Poffertjes, take away foods such as pies and hot chips, pizzas, sandwiches, tea, coffee, roasted potatoes and cold drinks. Food prices range from $5-$23 per item or meal.

Can we bring our own picnic?

You are very welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy it in our gardens. We have lots of lovely lawn where you can sit down and enjoy the ambiance. We also have picnic tables located throughout. We do not have barbecue facilities on site.

Is there parking?

We have free onsite parking for cars and buses. On busy weekends we have two car parks and entry points. People with limited mobility are advised to park in our main car park in the designated spots. Please note parking is limited and based on a first come first served system. The areas surrounding the farm are NO STANDING and we actively discourage you from parking on the roads surrounding the farm. If the car park is full, we advise you take a drive, get a coffee, explore the local area and come back in an hour or so, we will reopen the car park as soon as space becomes available. On weekends we also offer a chartered bus service from Lilydale Station at the cost of $3pp, children 16 and under free.

Are carers free?

Yes, we accept the National Companion Card

Can we BYO?

No, but we have licence vendors that are permitted to sell alcohol.

Can I take wedding photos there?

Yes, you are most welcome to have your photos taken here. Our season runs annually from Mid September to Mid October. We do not have areas set aside for private photos so advise you come at 9am on a week day for a more private wedding photo shoot at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival. We advise you pre-purchase your tickets online to avoid an added wait at the entrance gate (tickets are valid any day so if it is raining and you need to change the date that is no problem). You will need a ticket for everyone including make up artist and photographer. We do not have an additional photo levy.

Brides, be advised, we are a working farm and have mud and dirt, so bring along some practical shoes as well as your gorgeous sparkly ones. We also think a picnic blanket or towel is a good idea to stop your dress getting too dirty.

Can I have a wedding at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival?

At this time there is no facility to host weddings at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival. We are thinking about it, but do not have the facilities at this time.
